Lawrence Velasco

Software solutions, AI, and practical delivery.

I'm Lawrence Velasco, a Philippines-based software solutions developer and AI specialist. Since 2016, I've turned complex ideas into useful mobile, web, backend, AI-assisted, and connected-device products — sometimes independently, often with teams. I write and review code, improve processes, clarify tradeoffs, and help move the right solution from idea to release.

Personal projects

Software projects I built because I wanted them to exist.

San Bidet map showing restroom and bidet locations in Metro Manila

San Bidet

Find clean restrooms with bidets around the Philippines.

Finding a clean restroom with a bidet can be harder than it should be, especially while traveling. I built San Bidet to solve that for myself first, then put it out for anyone else running into the same problem.

AniVoice

Explore the voices behind anime characters.

I'm the kind of anime fan who recognizes a voice before I place the character, and I got tired of not being able to look that up easily. AniVoice is the searchable database I wished existed, covering characters, voice actors, and the roles connecting them.

Pitchie

Train pitch recognition with a quick musical note game.

Ear training works best in short, repeated doses, and most tools for it felt more like homework than practice. I built Pitchie to be a quick note-identification game instead — just enough friction to make the practice stick.

About

A problem solver who can build the solution.

I started in 2016 as a software developer. Over time, I took on more responsibility for the project side — scope, priorities, timelines, and the conversations that turn an idea into something real. I still write and review code, but I also help teams make better decisions about what to build and how to get it shipped. I helped spark and now help lead my company's transition to AI, including the move to fully agentic workflows, with a focus on optimizing processes and making work better, faster, and easier for everyone involved.

My approach treats AI as a strong delivery tool, with bounded work, durable context, automated checks, and human judgment. Read how I structure AI-enabled software delivery →

Builder’s perspective

I still write and review code regularly, so I have a current sense of architecture, platform limits, and the tradeoffs that come with maintainability and performance. When someone's excited about an idea, I can usually tell early on what's going to be simple and what's going to be a slog.

Delivery perspective

On the other side, I'm the one thinking about scope, priorities, and what a client or team actually needs to hear about progress — including the parts nobody enjoys, like saying a deadline needs to move. Having both perspectives at once means fewer surprises for everyone by the time something ships.
